A fundraising talk and reception benefiting the Audacity of Hope, the US boat participating in the fall Free Gaza Flotilla which will bring humanitarian supplies to Gaza and raise public awareness about the plight of Gaza's 1.5 million residents who, according to many sources, including an August UN report, face widespread poverty, malnutrition and under development. Adam Shapiro, is one of the founders of the International Solidarity Movement who lived in Palestine for several years.
