Right to Read for Gaza We are organizing a delegation called Right to Read to the Gaza Strip in Summer 2010 made up of teachers and writers from Canada, the US, the United Kingdom, and others. This is not a charitable endeavor, but an act to bring literacy and other educational resources as a form of compassion to the children who have suffered injuries and losses under the ongoing siege of Gaza and to resist the destruction of education imposed by Israel. According to UNRWA, Israel’s blockade prevents ink, paper, books, crayons and other learning material into Gaza. Material and financial support is needed to maximize the effectiveness of this important mission. Please "chip in" to help lead this delegation to Gaza and for a mission that will last at least 6 months. This involves addressing the dire needs of Gaza's children who have suffered injuries and losses under the ongoing siege, interviews with Palestinian women and children, and having their stories published so the world will hear their voices. blog comments powered by
